SUMMARY:The Jeanne Gregg Band
DESCRIPTION:$7 Cover \nAll Ages \nPlease tip the artists! \nThe Jeanne Gregg Band has gone through a few ideations since forming in 2016.  They have played clubs around Corvallis\, Albany and the Eugene area and also several of the wineries\, parks and civic music spots such as parks. Their music reflects the variety of tastes in the band and at the same time reflects a musical core that they all agree upon. Jeanne writes some of the songs and they released a CD “Jeanne Gregg Band Live! on the rooftop at Sky High Brewery” in 2019.  The Cascade Blues Society named the CD “music to listen and pay attention to” in the October 2019 issue of their newsletter. \n  \nJeanne Gregg-Vocalist/composer hailed originally from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.  Her first paying gigs were in the 70’s and she played around the Hollywood area at the Crescendo Club\, The Troubadour and an under- 21 age nightclub called the Hullabaloo.  Later Jeanne moved to San Diego where she played with a band named Half Moon.  Jeanne took a while off to have children but not time off from music.  She took her music into church. Jeanne met the guys when she came began coming to the local jams and that’s how the story goes. \n  \nDennis Monroe: guitar & vocals\, is a versatile musician who has played styles from blues\, jazz\, funk and rock to western swing and country music. He’s been a gigging musician since the age of 14. He spent 13 years touring with “Micky Shannon and Runaway” playing top 40 music and co-writing and recording with his wife Micky. In the mid 90’s he co-founded an eight-piece funk band with son JD Monroe called “Huzzah” that regularly played Eugene\, Corvallis and Portland areas performing an all original repertoire. Dennis produced\, engineered and recorded Huzzah’s album entitled “Paint It Funky” at his Studio 52 recording studio which he owned and operated in Corvallis Other bands Dennis has played with are the “Porch Dawgs” with Steve Magnolia and the Vicki Stevens Band who represented the Rainy Day Blues Society at the IBC in Memphis in 2011.. He has been the co-host along with William (Froggy) Hyland\, of the blues jam at the Calapooia Brewing Company in Albany Oregon since 2005 and has hosted his own jam “Dennis Monroe’s Funked Up Blues Jam” in Philomath Oregon at the Meet n Place Tavern since 2014. \n  \nJohn Collison on keyboards grew up in Kansas and cut his teeth playing with jazz\, funk\, country\, soul and blues bands throughout the Midwest. A stint in Los Angeles was followed by several years in Nashville touring with country artists before landing in Las Vegas where playing became more of a sideline to work as Production Manager and Director of Entertainment for a multi-venue casino operator. The bright lights of Vegas gave way to a simpler lifestyle in Pennsylvania and a chance to rekindle playing music as opposed to working in the support business. In 2014 John moved to Oregon and has been very busy playing with a handful of bands in the Willamette\, including the Donny Thorp Band\, All Rights Reserved and the Jeanne Gregg Band. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Mark Nerby started early in the music business and by 1969 he was playing professionally. He toured and traveled the western part of the United States for approximately 8 years with different bands. More recently he has reduced the amount of time he plays professionally. In 2013 Mark joined Billy D and the Hoodoos out of Portland and spent about 3 years performing both locally and traveling to the blues clubs in Chicago and the House of Blues. In addition\, they played several venues in Santa Fe\, NM\, Fort Worth Texas\, Las Vegas and some venues in Idaho. Currently\, Mark plays with the Dennis Monroe Funked-up Blues Band and the Jeanne Gregg Band among others.
