SUMMARY:Kevin Selfe & The Tornadoes
DESCRIPTION:$10 Cover \nA native of Roanoke\, VA\, Kevin Selfe learned to play the blues by watching the masters that lived and traveled through the area. Having combined this influence with his own distinct style\, Selfe developed a swampy\, primal sound that is reminiscent of humid\, summer evenings in the rural South. He relocated to Portland\, OR in 2007 where he is now a leading light in the Pacific Northwest’s robust blues revival. Selfe is a two time inductee into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame for Electric Guitar and Traditional Blues Act\, and his band\, Kevin Selfe and The Tornadoes\, has received prestigious Muddy Awards for Blues Act of the Year eight times. His recordings on world renown blues labels Delta Groove and Vizztone have landed on the Billboard Blues Chart and have been featured on SiriusXM radio.

His main duty was to be in charge of the Launch Ramp but also managed its famous Friday Night gatherings. This includes a variety of 80’s cover bands including Eurasia\, UB69\, Dick Astley and Jon Bovi. Jeff also double majored in Nautical Engineering and manufactured his own Sailboat.\n\n\n\n\n\nLeif Gunner – Guitars and Back Up Vocals\nAKA Paul Wurster: Since the polygamous marriage last year Leif has been very focused on performing while at the top his game. He spends the majority of his days rehearsing and getting ready for “the next gig”. He started playing guitar at a very young age likes tuning his instrument to get the most velvety sound possible. John and Leif are the only members to commute to the gigs because they live in a compound in eastern Oregon inside John Day.\n\n\n\nChaz Pennington – Keyboards\nAKA Ben Scharf: Chaz recently won a scoring award for the softcore movie “Candy and Apples”. The film was only released on Betamax and LaserDisc formats. SUMMARY:Anni Piper
DESCRIPTION:$12 advance click here to get your tickets today \n$15 day of show \nListen to Anni Piper at https://annipiper.com/music/ \n“Piper has the kind of voice that lulls men to their doom. It’s soft and sweet when it wants to be\, scared and vulnerable a moment later\, then ripping through you like a razor… Piper commands songs utterly.” \nJeremy Loome\, The Edmondton Sun\, Canada \nOne listen will tell you why in her homeland Anni Piper is known as the First Lady of Blues. Not only is she a sultry vocalist\, but an insightful composer\, accomplished bass player and show stopping performer. Born and raised in Australia\, her passion for blues was ignited by the sound of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Piper has called the United States home since 2014. \nPicking up a bass guitar at age 14\, Piper completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at 19 years of age. Finding it difficult to resume her performing career following the birth of her son\, Piper recorded her debut album ‘Jailbait’ in 2004. The all original album was meant to be a good quality demo and wasn’t intended for commercial release. \nTo Piper’s surprise\, she was immediately signed to Black Market Music\, Australia’s most prestigious blues label and began touring throughout the country. The ‘Jailbait’ album won multiple awards including Best New Talent at the Australian Blues Music Awards\, the ABC Radio National ‘Fresh Air’ contest\, and 2nd place at the Australian National Songwriting Contest. \nHer subsequent releases saw her placed as a finalist in the Australian Blues Music Awards (Best Female Vocal)\, UK Songwriting Contest\, Australian Performing Rights Association Professional Development Awards\, MusicOz awards and semi-finalist in the International Blues Challenge and International Songwriting Competition. Piper has earned a reputation as a songwriter of distinction\, blending classic blues grit with modern insight. \nIn 2008 Piper signed with Blues Leaf Records USA (Janiva Magness\, Albert Castiglia) and released ‘Two’s Company’\, a compilation of her earlier releases. The album reached # 21 on the Living Blues chart even though Piper had yet to tour the USA. She quickly made up for lost time and has performed in 45 American states and Canada. Piper has performed to packed houses at premier venues such as the House of Blues and BB King’s. She has earned critical acclaim from publications including Blues Revue and Blues Matters (UK). \nNever one to sit still\, Piper found new purpose during the COVID-19 pandemic\, inspired by frontline heroes to become a registered nurse. These days\, she splits her time between healing bodies and healing hearts — working hospital shifts by day and laying down bass grooves by night. Her upcoming album\, ‘Men Are Like Potato Chips’\, drops summer 2026 and promises to be her boldest\, bluesiest statement yet. \nwww.annipiper.com \n“Australia  has  produced  several  noteworthy  blues  and  roots  acts  in  recent  years\,  including some remarkable female vocalists. Anni Piper’s two previous releases…established her as a card-carrying  member  of  that  club……Piper’s vocal creates a velvety sound that calls up images of the great lounge queens of yesteryear… Two’s  Company  offers  12  tracks  driven  by  Piper’s distinctive\, smoky alto\, but it also highlights her considerable talent on bass….” \nJonathan Black\, ‘Blues Revue’ magazine\, USA \n  \n“Piper has the kind of voice that lulls men to their doom. It’s soft and sweet when it wants to be\, scared and vulnerable a moment later\, then ripping through you like a razor… Piper commands songs utterly.” \nJeremy Loome\, The Edmondton Sun\, Canada \n“A towering bass player and sultry vocalist that plays up her sex appeal\, this Australian transplant mixes soul-spilling electric blues rock\, raw Southern steeped hill country acoustic blues\, gritty hard rock\, and jarring slow burners approaching it all like a seasoned torch singer that’s conscious of her instrument’s lack of limitations…” Charlotte Observer NC \n“Anni\, to us you are the “Bettie Page of the blues!” Killer vocals and a wicked strong bass style paired with her pinup-queen good looks…..brassy\, sassy\, sexy\, and tough-yet-tender vocal delivery.” \nSheryl and Don Crow\, Nashville Blues Society \n“She’s consistently released house rocker records that highlight her bass talents as well as those of her tight band – organ strains and salty guitar licks pull the flavor out of her bass and let Piper stand front and center…” \nConnect Savannah GA \n  \n“Women may well rule the Greenwood Blues Cruise when it rolls into town…if it’s vocals you want\, Anni Piper brings a hard-edged rock style to her music with a strong bluesy voice that’s every bit as powerful as her bass playing” \nIndex Journal \n  \n“If you enjoy award-winning talent with a splash of the wild side\, sultry Australian performer Anni Piper won’t even come close to disappointing you. And you don’t have to travel Down Under!” \nNaples Daily News \n“Barefoot in a red cocktail dress and brandishing both an electric bass guitar and a powerful blues vocal tone\, this down under diva makes quite the impression.” \nVero Beach News Weekly

SUMMARY:The Strange Tones 25 Year Celebration
DESCRIPTION:$15 Advance\nAdvance ticket sales are now closed. \n$20 day of show \nhttps://strangetones.com \nCelebrate 25 years with The Strange Tones! \nGoing strong since 2001\, The Strange Tones are recognized as a one-of-a-kind Pacific Northwest musical institution. As Portland as damn fine coffee and homegrown beer\, the band has created an original flavor that has been described as ‘blues noir’ that continues to excite people worldwide. \nRather than plundering the shrines of American music and merely imitating their heroes\, these sonic crime fighters have concocted their own secret formula\, a one-of-a-kind style they call “Crime-A-Billy”. The band draws upon the rich traditions of blues\, rockabilly\, surf\, and R & B\, and finishes it off with a private eye twist. Their combination of well-crafted songwriting\, top notch musicianship\, and playful\, engaging stage shows is sure to leave you shaken\, stirred\, and wanting more. “Many people find it hard to show something new within electric blues format and they should ask The Strange Tones for some private lessons as they have found their own niche and truly shine.” -The Voice of the Blues\, Przemek Draheim\, Poland \n  \nThis fearsome foursome\, led by the husband-and-wife team of Guitar Julie and bassist Andy Strange\, and fortified by partners guitarist Suburban Slim and drummer Dave Melyan\, form “….one of Portland’s most original and accomplished bands.” – Oregonian. And the Eugene roots run deep with this crew… Andy Strange was born and bred right into this blues stronghold\, honing his chops with Eugene’s finest (eventually touring with Screaming’ Jay Hawkins along with fellow Eugenean musicians)\, and Suburban Slim spent many years living and performing in Eugene\, electrifying audiences with his fretwork. \n  \nThe Strange Tones’ fiery\, unique sound and outstanding musicianship has earned the band entry into the Cascade Blues Association ‘Muddy Hall of Fame’\, and multiple awards in the categories of contemporary band and electric guitar\, as well as ‘Recording of the Year’. Their music has made Real Blues Magazine’s Top 100 Charts (#12 CD)\, and has been on the Top 20 Chart in Spain for FM Blues Radio. The band has received many rave reviews\, including Blues in Britain\, Elmore Magazine and The Next Big Thing\, and their song “Pinto Squire” was featured on National Public Radio’s Car Talk. If you’re looking for fun\, look to the Strange Tones.”- Blues Revue Magazine \n  \n“If surf guitar god Dick Dale found himself in Bogie’s Maltese Falcon film-noir underworld\, and drank beer at the seedy bar with bluesmen Jimmy Reed and Magic Sam\, the resulting soundtrack might be exactly what the Strange Tones purvey.” – Oregonian \n  \n

SUMMARY:Billy D and The Hoodoos
DESCRIPTION:$10 Cover \n$7 Minimum Purchase \nPlease tip the artists! \nAward winning blues \nIn the last two years Billy D and the Hoodoos’ Somethin’s Wrong has charted on The Billboard Blues Album Charts once and Living Blues twice. It was named the Winner in the Blues Category of the 2013 UK Songwriting Contest\, and The 12 videos from the DVD have recently surpassed the two-million-hit milestone on YouTube! The band was also awarded Best New Act by the Cascade Blues Association. \nBilly D’s life experience has given him the strength to write his brand of “Bluzy Rock” with a passion that only comes from living it. Heavily influenced by Chicago blues\, Rock & Roll\, and “Backbeat Roots” music of all types\, his songs reflect the tough lessons of his past and show his love for Mother Blues and her first-born\, Rock & Roll. \nBorn on the south side of Chicago\, Billy Desmond grew up surrounded by the Blues and early Rock & Roll— a powerful combination. He started playing professionally at the age of fourteen\, primarily for teen dances and parties; and by eighteen\, he was sneaking into the blues clubs of Chicago to hear such greats as Muddy Waters\, Junior Wells\, Buddy Guy\, and James Cotton. Within a few years\, Billy would be working with blues legends Junior Wells\, Big Time Sarah\, and Detroit Junior. \nBy the late ‘70s\, he had formed his first band\, Skid City Blues Band\, taking on the roles of singer\, guitarist\, and songwriter. After years of touring the Midwest\, Billy moved to Los Angeles in 1984\, studying with Blues great Tony Matthews\, guitarist for Little Richard and Ray Charles. He spent half of the next year playing behind\, Don “Sugar Cane” Harris\, perhaps the world’s greatest blues violinist. \nIn the mid-’90s\, Billy moved to Santa Fe\, and began focusing on writing and playing his original songs. Within the year\, Billy D and the Hoodoos were formed. \nIn 2003\, KTAO voted his song She’s the One the number one song by a regional artist. KTAO hosts the Annual Solar Fest in New Mexico and that same year Billy and the band opened the Fest for Los Lonely Boys and Robert Cray. After several more successful years in New Mexico\, Billy left the southwest for Oregon in early 2010. His first CD\, Somethin’s Wrong has received outstanding reviews and accolades and has been embraced by the Portland music community as well as the rest of the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe.

SUMMARY:Lloyd Jones & Rooster Tribute Birthday Extravaganza
DESCRIPTION:$20 Cover \nPlease tip the artists! \n$9 minimum purchase \nSinger-songwriter-guitarist Lloyd Jones is one of the founding fathers of the NW blues scene. Along with a handful of other Oregonians of his generation\, including the late Paul deLay\, Robert Cray\, Curtis Salgado\, and Bill Rhoades\, Lloyd began playing and singing blues when there was no fan base and no existing venues. \n  \nPortland\, Oregon roots artist Lloyd Jones has recorded six critically acclaimed albums\, toured internationally\, and racked up dozens of major awards and accolades. He’s a relentless road dog\, hitting festival stages\, Delbert’s annual Sandy Beaches Cruises (he’s been a regular on six winter cruises)\, and clubs all across the land to enthusiastic crowds who can’t get enough of his swampy blues\, his back-porch picking\, his serious-as-anthrax funk\, soul\, roadhouse two-beats\, and old-school rhythm and blues (back before the R&B tag was somehow appropriated for other musical purposes\, apparently when we weren’t looking). Yet he may be the most invisible\, best-kept roots/blues/Americana secret on the contemporary scene. \n  \nJones is a master of the soulful understatement\, the raw growl\, and the groove. From his roots in muddy Oregon soil\, he’s forged a 30-plus-year career as an impassioned singer and fierce guitar slinger\, a clever and soulful songwriter\, a bandleader\, record producer\, and an almost strident torchbearer for all that’s true and good about America’s music. Jones is his own true artist who works diligently at pushing American roots music forward. \nWhat he does\, he says\, is “combine New Orleans rhythms\, the simplicity of Memphis music\, and the rawness of the blues\, all for the 21st century. This music is not about louder and faster. It’s about time\, meter\, groove. I thought Muddy and Walter and those guys were pushing the envelope in their era. They were using effects\, they were inventing their own sound. They were modern. I want to look at it in a contemporary way.” The gist is all the same — Lloyd Jones is the total package.
