SUMMARY:Daddy Rabbit
DESCRIPTION:$7 Cover \n$9 Minimum Purchase \nPlease tip the artists! \nAudiences may mistake the band is playing songs from the 1950s or ’60s. But they soon realize it’s original music that honors that early rock ‘n’ roll tradition\, and they get up and dance along. Rob Jacobs wouldn’t have it any other way. The guitarist and vocalist has experience in several different genres\, especially in rock’s later history. He played with indie rock outfit Long\, Tall and Ugly and punk band The Perverts previously. But he found his calling in the genre’s early roots. “I wanted to not play loud and fast constantly\, all the time\,” Jacobs said. “I started writing rockabilly stuff when I was with my other band\, and the drummer was like\, ‘I don’t want to play that kind of music.’ And I said\, ‘OK\, but I have to.’ ” That instinct has led to two albums\, energetic live performances and a growing reputation in Eugene-Springfield.
