SUMMARY:Johnny Wheels & The Swamp Donkeys
DESCRIPTION:$10 cover \nJohnny Wheels & The Swamp Donkeys \n\nJohnny Wheels is a singer / songwriter / harmonica player inspired by the soul of the Pacific Northwest. \nThe “Swamp Donkeys” are Johnny’s band-mates who are inspired by Johnny to “live a song” on the edge. \n Johnny:\n“Nope! You won’t hear a song exactly the same way twice – that’s what CD’s are for. We like to add some spice of musical exploration” \nThe son of a traveling bass player and singer\, Johnny “Wheels” Kennicott had music in his blood since birth\, but expressing himself musically took on new importance when Johnny broke his neck in a childhood accident\, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. \n“The days of football practice after school were definitely over”\, Johnny says\, but music still provided an outlet for his infectious energy and his creative potential. \nThough his father’s instrument of choice and his early passion of playing drums were now out due to limited function\, Johnny found\, through determined trial and error\, he could manipulate his paralyzed diaphragm to not only sing\, but also blow the harmonica. Since that time\, Johnny has been traveling the Pacific Northwest music scene\, spreading the gospel of the blues. \nCollectively\, the band hails from Oregon\, Texas and California and is typically tagged as a Blues band; Although\, the diversity of the members’ musical backgrounds becomes evident as the worlds of R&B\, Soul\, Jazz\, Funk and Rock are blended under a Blues umbrella. \nMembers include: \nJohnny Wheels\, Vocals\, Harmonica\nBrandon Logan\, Vocals\, Guitar\nDoug Knoyle\, Drums\nMichael Rabe\, Vocals\, Guitar\nTaylor Frazier\, Vocals\, Bass \nMembers of Johnny Wheels and the Swamp Donkeys have performed and or shared the stage with:\nCheap Trick\nCurtis Salgado\nDana Carvey\nJeff Tamelier (Tower of Power)\nJim Belushi\nLinda Hornbuckle\nLisa Mann\nPaul Delay\nRocco Prestia (Tower of Power)\nSoul Vaccination\n… and many others.

DESCRIPTION:Outdoors weather permitting\n\nNo Cover\n\n\n$7 minimum purchase \nInterweaving soulful vocals and dynamic guitar playing\, Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter\, Greg Nestler and his band have been delivering their fiery blend of soul/rock to audiences throughout the NW. \nTrouble\, is the latest album since his previous effort\, Duality.  Duality was produced by Bryan Bell and gave Nestler the opportunity to have featured guest appearances from Ray Parker\, Jr.\, Freddie Washington (Steely Dan) and David K Mathews (Santana). \n \nNestler\, raised in Southeast Portland\, was first introduced to the musical arts/performance at an early age through tap dancing.  It wasn’t until years later that he began exploring his love of blues guitar and R&B/soul music.  After moving to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon\, Nestler began playing local venues with his songwriting duo\, Nestler & Hawtin.  The duo were soon playing sizable festivals throughout the Northwest (Portland Rose Festival\, Bite of Seattle\, Bite of Portland\, Taste of Tacoma). \n \nPulling from influences like Bill Withers to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix\, Nestler’s live performances feature superb blues guitar and groove fueled originals.
