DESCRIPTION:“Ty Curtis is a triple threat\, since he is the band’s lead singer\, as well as the primary composer of their material\, and thirdly he’s a sonically incendiary\, string-shredding electric guitar player”\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTy Curtis has been winning awards for his vocals and musicianship for the last 10 years. \nIn 2009 his raw soulful version of 5 Long Years by Eddie Boyd captivated the audience and earned the band 2nd place in The International Blues Challenge and lead to performances at The Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada and the St John Blues Festival USVI. \nHis first live music experience was Silverchair at the LB Day Amphitheater in Salem Oregon where Curtis grew up. “It was their performance and musicianship that made me want to play guitar and sing” he recalls “I wanted to rock out like them” and with that inspiration ingrained\, Ty asked his parents for a guitar which he never let go of. “It was this kid’s Toy Western guitar that my parents found at a garage sale\, the strings were way off the fretboard” he laughs  “I played that thing until my fingers bled” From the age of sixteen\, Ty started showing up at local clubs and playing at any blues jam he could find. It wasn’t long before Ty was winning over admirers and attracting a large fan base in the Northwest. With each subsequent album release Ty’s reputation continued to grow establishing him as one of the torch bearers in a new generation of Blues. The band competed in the Journey to Memphis in Portland through the Cascade Blues Association and won giving him the chance to perform on the National stage. It was there in Memphis that Ty met David Z which led to him producing the third album ‘Cross That Line’. \nAfter a move to Austin Texas Ty decided to pursue a musical relationship with Steve Miller Band’s guitarist Jacob Petersen. That pairing led to album releases “Ty Curtis” and “Water Under The Bridge” where both albums received high praise and rave reviews. “His ability to think outside the box\, and blend his influences from other genres of music fit perfectly amongst the assortment of true blues rock style. Ty redefines intelligent songwriting stepping away from the rigid forms of technicalities\, song structure\, and instrumentation used by the majority of blues rock artists”. – Bluesrockreview.com \n    With 5 albums under his belt Curtis decided to co produce his 6th album ‘Blame Me’ with the help of Austin producer and bassist Nick Jay (Ed Kowalzick\, Alpha Rev & SXSW engineer). DESCRIPTION:Canada’s Best Classic Blues Band \n8:00pm $10 cover \nHarpdog Brown is a gifted singer and an imaginative harmonica player that has been a strong force in Canada’s Blues scene since 1982. \nBorn in Edmonton\, Alberta and based in Vancouver\, British Columbia\, he’s crossed tens of thousands of miles playing club dates and festivals in Canada\, North Western United States and Germany. \nOver the years Harpdog\, yes that is his real name as his passport will attest\, has issued 4 CD’s to critical acclaim.  Back in 1995 his Home is Where The Harp Is won the coveted Muddy Award for the Best North West Blues Release\, from the Cascade Blues Association in Portland.  He is still the only Canadian to do so.  A Juno Nomination for the best Blues Release in Canada followed that same year.  Teamed up with Graham Guest on piano\, his CD Naturally was voted #1 Canadian Blues Album of 2011 by The Blind Lemon Survey.  Most recently Harpdog was honoured with his second consecutive Maple Blues Award for Harmonica Player of the Year by the Toronto Blues Society. Add to that a second consecutive nomination for Blues Artist of the Year by the Western Canadian Music Awards.  These are outstanding accomplishments that clearly solidify his rise in popularity and a new beginning in his career. \n\n\n\nThe album that delivered his first Maple Blues Award\, titled What It Is\, maintained status in the blues and roots charts throughout the year and in fact was ranked #20 worldwide Roots Music Report: Top 100 Blues Albums of 2014.  Two songs on that album\, Whiskey Bottle and In My Younger Days remained in the TOP 100 Songs for that same year.  It is a great collection of live\, off the floor originals and a few well placed covers that resonate well with blues fans of every vintage.  Harpdog’s original How Come is a fan favourite and earned regular rotation on BB King’s Bluesville on SiriusXM. \nIt is clear that Harpdog rules the blues scene in the Vancouver\, BC area where his current project\, Harpdog Brown & The Travelin’ Blues Show is poised to launch a new album September 1\, 2016 followed by a North American Tour.   After mounting their cross-Canada tour in the fall of 2015\, this will be another a collaboration project with none other than Little Victor Mac. In fact Victor is producing the album and will also make a guest appearance.  Labeled the Beale Street Blues Bopper and the King of Grit\, Victor has played with Hubert Sumlin\, Louisianna Red\, RL Burnside and is working on his 9th album\, Buzzed\, Busted & Broke with Kim Wilson\, Carl Sonny Leyland and Big John Atkinson. \nAs Harpdog recently put it\, “After more than 30 years of blood\, sweat and tears\, it feels like I’m just getting started.  I’m only 54 – that’s young in the blues world!”

DESCRIPTION:Do you have an unforgettable voice!? \nVocal competition seeking out the one voice that is truly unforgettable\, while benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association – Oregon Chapter. Hosted at Mac’s Restaurant & Night Club by Chateau Gardens. The Unforgettable Voice will hold LIVE auditions Thursday\, November 15th starting at 6:00 pm and will select a Top 20 for our first live semi-final\, “Battle to the Top\,” round on Saturday\, the 17th. The Top 5 will move onto finals Sunday\, the 18th\, for a chance to win over $500 in cash and prizes and the title of The Unforgettable Voice. \nJoin us as we seek out The Unforgettable Voice while giving a voice to those who hold the key to #EndAlz. \nSEMI FINALS – Mac’s Restaurant & Night Club\nSaturday\, November 17th; Show begins at 6:00 PM\nTop 20 will sing to advance to the Top 5 Finale\nCover: $5.00 at the door; 10% drinks/food go to #EndAlz \nFINALE – Mac’s Restaurant & Night Club\nSunday\, November 18th; Show begins at 4:00 PM\nTop 5 will sing to be crowned The Unforgettable Voice\n1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd Place Winners; Cash & Prizes\nCover: $5.00 at the door; 10% food/drinks go to #EndAlz.
