Ray Brassfield—
Ray played his first bass gig in 1968 at a bar in Junction City appropriately named “The

bars, taverns, churches, coffee houses and restaurants.
In the early 70’s, he played at The Renaissance Faire, which is now known as The
Oregon Country Fair, with a locally popular group, Magpie. They helped usher in the
use of amplified music which was pretty much organic/acoustic prior to that time.
He has performed with different groups at The Jamboree held in Sweet Home, Oregon.,
as well as numerous county fairs.
He is somewhat stylistically diverse, having played country, rock, blues, jazz, folk, and
he continues to explore musical opportunities.
