Lisa Mann hails from blues-soaked Portland OR where she has been inducted into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame. In both 2015 and 2016, she won the Blues Music Award for best bassist from the Blues Foundation in Memphis TN. Her most recent EP, Old Girl, hit the Billboard Blues Chart upon its release, and has been featured on Sirius XM’s Bluesville.
Originally from West Virginia, her voice effortlessly straddles the line between the honey-sweet warmth of the south and the force-of-nature sound she’s cultivated by mastering everything from rock and roll to Memphis soul. Her clever blues balladry is complimented by her considerable prowess on bass guitar, with grooves that touch on the hallowed soil of James Jamerson and Bob Babbitt. She writes the majority of her recorded material, and her songs paint pictures of a gritty (and sometimes humorous) personal experience in life, love and the not-always-pretty music business.
Lara Price is a survivor… Born in the war-torn country of Vietnam in 1975 and abandoned at birth, Lara became a part of the controversial “Operation Baby Lift”, a mass evacuation of orphans from South Vietnam to the United States. As 90 percent of the orphaned babies did not survive, her journey out of Vietnam to her new home was nothing short of a miracle.
Price discovered the power of music at the tender age of 6, when she started taking piano lessons in England with legendary 80’s music innovator Howard Jones. At the age of 12 she found her singing voice. She arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997 to pursue her dream of singing in a band. By 1998, Price began running her own blues jam at JJ’s Blues in San Jose, and was featured in Blues Revue Magazine. Price has produced, and co-written five albums, and is featured on drums, guitar, and back up vocals. She has shared the bill with R&B legends, Etta James, James Brown, Buddy Guy, Leon Russell and many more. Lara now resides in Austin, Texas and has received a blues music nomination for Soul Blues Female Artist 2017.
