THE LOST FALCONS REUNION – AUGUST 31
Eugene’s music scene in the 1980s was legendary and spawned many
memorable bands, one of which was The Lost Falcons. The Lost Falcons
were known for their unique blend of American roots music and high
energy original compositions. The Lost Falcons went on to become rock
legend Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ touring band. This stint included
performances at famous Los Angeles area clubs such as the Whiskey-a-
GoGo, The Palomino Club and a lengthy European tour.
After many years on their separate musical paths and several of the
members receiving multiple awards from the Cascade Blues Society and
the Washington Blues Society, these four original members of The Lost
Falcons find themselves all living back in Oregon once again. So it seems
the time is right for a reunion gig which is scheduled for Saturday, August
31 at Mac’s at the Vet’s in Eugene.
John Barley (guitar/vocals), formerly of Eugene’s Los Xplorers and The
Nads, is currently a member of The Town & Country Band. Henry Cooper
(guitar/harmonica/vocals), also formerly of Los Xplorers, The Milkmen and
Seattle’s Duffy Bishop Band, is currently fronting his own group, The Henry
Cooper Trio. Boyd Small (drums/vocals), formerly of Eugene’s Milkmen,
has spent many years living in Amsterdam and currently is a popular solo
artist throughout Europe and the United States. Andy Strange, formerly of
Eugene’s The Imposters, is currently a member of Portland’s The
Strangetones, with his wife, Guitar Julie, who will also be a guest at this
event. Lonesome Randall will open the show.
